Cardiac Rehabilitation Equipment

Rehabilitation equipment is slightly different than regular exercise equipment. Different measurements need to be taken and different settings need to be available. Fitness Rush carries rehabilitation equipment manufactured by Monark, a world leader in rehab and training equipment.

Monark Ergomedic Data is the only mechanically-braked ergometer in the world that works independently of pedal speed. This means that the ergometer produces a constant workload independent of pedal speed. In a test situation, this means that the person being tested does not need to maintain the same pedal speed throughout the test. Instead, the ergometer automatically adapts its resistance in relation to the pedal speed, so that the workload remains constant.

The person tested can cycle at a speed comfortable to him or her, without worrying about the pedal speed. This allows greater possibilities for performing sub-maximal and maximal tests of oxygen absorption capacity, since the person tested can avoid the anaerobic side effects (lactic acid) that can result from low rotation speed and heavy exertion.
